Cardiothoracic Advisory Group
The group includes two representatives from each cardiothoracic transplant centre, one physician and one surgeon, together with transplant co-ordinator and other interested groups.
The group monitors the continuing suitability of the organ allocation scheme developed specifically for the transplantation of heart, heart/lung or lungs.
Following a report by the Commission for Health Improvement the group produced a number of National Protocols and Standards involving donors and recipients.
